Chimney Water Repellent and Maintenance

When thinking about chimneys, the first issue that often comes to mind is the risk of fire due to poor maintenance. However, we have seen many fireplaces that have been destroyed and become unsafe for use simply from water leaking in. The porous masonry construction of a chimney is an easy vector of water into your home, potentially causing thousands of dollars of damage over time. To help prevent water damage, your chimney should have water repellant applied periodically. We have decades of experience in chimney care at The Chimney Sweep LLC, and we would love to help you preserve your chimney for years to come.

Chimney Water Damage Restoration

If your chimney already has water damage, we may still be able to help. Many times, cracks and broken brick can be repaired. The chimney crown, which is the top flat surface of the chimney, is one common area that can develop cracks. We can resurface it with a flexible waterproof membrane or install a new metal cover.
